Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana is a 12-bed facility located in Fort Wayne. This small hospice is committed to approaching all families regarding eye donation. Carolyn Minnick, Director of Hospice Home, is very proud to be part of this process. She works frequently with the Indiana Lions Eye Bank, sharing concerns re-garding eye donation. Carolyn exercises great care and compassion in raising the issue of donation. She believes that the decision should be made jointly by the patient and his or her family, so she approaches them together to consider giving the gift of sight. Carolyn finds that this allows everyone to deal with grief in a positive way. Knowing that their pain and loss can bring joy to another person is rewarding for all involved. The Indiana Lions Eye Bank wishes to acknowledge Carolyn Minnick and Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana for their efforts in the eye donation process and thank them for the care they provide to all involved. |
