Making a New Connection

Windows 98

First Open My Computer

Then Open Dial Up Networking

Open Make New Connection

Then Configure Each Window to match the following:

Replace "My Connection" with Spitfire *as shown*

    Click Configure

Change the Maximum Speed to match the following

  Click the Connection Tab

  Remove ALL Check Marks

  Click OK

  Click Next

Enter your Local Spitfire Phone Number

Click Next

Click Finish

Right click on the Spitfire Icon and Click Properties.

Click on the Server Types tab

Make sure that only 

    Enable Software Compression and

    TCP/IP   are checked.

Click OK.

Then Close ALL open windows so that you are back to your main screen or Desktop.

   Right Click on the Internet Explorer Icon  

Then Click on Properties                                   

Make sure your home page address is as shown

  Click on the Connections Tab

 Set up this window exactly as shown

Click Apply

Click OK

You can now log on to the internet by double clicking on Internet Explorer
